In just six days, hundreds of footsteps will carry one very important message.
Every child deserves the chance to live their best possible life.
For those who don't know Amarli's story, she lives with an extremely rare genetic condition involving the GRIK2 gene. It affects so many things most of us take for granted every day.
Things like communicating, moving independently and enjoying the everyday experiences of childhood.
Yet through it all, Amarli continues to amaze us with her strength, resilience and beautiful spirit. 💜
Her parents, Jade and Lee, along with her family and friends, dream of a day when she can experience even a few more of the things other children can do.
That's why we trek.
This is our THIRD annual Trek for Amarli, and what started as a community coming together for one little girl has grown into something much bigger.
Last year, with the incredible support of Ross Transport and our community, The Amarli Army helped to secure the lead truck in the Illawarra Convoy.
This year, we're looking even further ahead.
Through Amarli Army Australia Incorporated, we're working towards supporting awareness, families and valuable research into rare genetic conditions, with the hope that advances in science and gene therapies may one day change the lives of children like Amarli.
We know there are no quick fixes or guarantees. But we believe there is every reason to keep moving forward.
Every sponsor, every donation, every volunteer and every person who walks alongside us is helping turn hope into action.
So next Saturday, whether you're walking, cheering, volunteering or joining us afterwards at Wiso's, remember why we're all there.
